Preschool Update

The preschool department is hosting a Car Wash in the school parking lot, on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10 - 3.  The cost is $10 for a wash or vacuum, and $15 for a wash and vacuum.  The NJHS and HHS members are volunteering  to wash and vacuum.  Please come out and support our youngest learners.

Ocean Month

Our Preschoolers have been studying about God's creation of sea life.  They have learned about our 4 oceans- the warmest, largest, coldest, and closest to where we live. We have also learned about the types of creatures living in the ocean.   We are looking forward to our Ocean Day activities on May 27, 2010. 

Look ahead: 

Don't forget to turn in your permission slips and money for our year end trip on Friday, June 11, 2010.  Both are due on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.

Also, our Preschool Graduation and Stepping Up ceremony is on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at 9:00 a.m.  Please have your child here on time and in Sunday dress.  This is an exciting time in their lives.  This is a half day and their last day. 

K3 News:

Our K3 class is getting ready to step up to K4.  We are so busy this month learning our Bible verses plus two new Spanish songs.  We are also celebrating Ocean Day on May 27.  We've created some really cool ocean critter decorations.  We can't wait for our fun filled day.  The K3 and K4 classrooms are transforming into an ocean paradise, with snacks, games, crafts and plenty of music and movement.

K4 A News:

Our K4 A class has been studying ocean animals.  We have learned about crabs, jellyfish, and sharks.  We are also enjoying watching our tadpoles as they develop their little legs. 

K4 B News:

Our K4 B continues its study of the ocean and ocean animals.  We were excited to paint our fish for the bulletin board.  We also made a beach scene, showing the sand and sea shells. We continue to learn about crustaceans, fish and mammals that live in the ocean.    As we study about Jonah from the Bible, we are also learning about the ocean, and how God used a great fish to help Jonah learn to obey the first time.  What a lesson!!   We are also continuing to learn and review our phonics sounds, blends, and reading groups.  We are such big kids!
