Making Christian Education affordable
Many families ask us about our fundraising practices at HCS, so we would like to take the opportunity to address those questions. Tuition and fees are intended to cover normal operating costs of our school. That is why opportunities to support other needs at HCS financially through fundraising will always exist. Unlike public schools, we do not receive government funds. When donors contribute to needs or projects, many things can be purchased that directly impact our students’ lives and enhance their learning experiences. We believe that no student who desires to attend Harmony Christian School should ever be denied that opportunity for financial reasons. A part of our fundraising proceeds goes to fulfill this exact need.
For many families, providing a private Christian education for their children involves significant financial investment and sacrifice. We want to create an atmosphere where a family can give joyfully and not feel they are being asked to give beyond their means. Throughout the school year, there will be opportunities to give, but our desire is that you would not feel pressured but would prayerfully consider each opportunity. We do not desire any of our families to experience donor fatigue and encourage all families to share these opportunities to give with their family, church, and community.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

HCS Harvest Festival & 5K Walk/Run
This is one of our flagship fundraisers for the year and takes place in September. We invite the entire Hudson Valley community along with the faculty/staff of Harmony Christian School, Harmony Baptist Church staff and congregation. The day starts with a scenic 5K Walk/Run close to the venue. Before the start of the 5K, there is a kid run with prizes. The 5K is professionally timed. This past year we used Catskills Timing. There are prizes for the top finishers for both the run and walk variation of the race.
Once the 5K is finished, all participants are invited to join the Harvest Festival for food and festivities. Some of the highlights include: tricky tray, silent auction, bake sales, large yard sale, military vehicles, fire and police vehicles, pony rides, kids games, bounce house, and a dunk tank. We also have a concession stand with plenty of food. Most of the items for sale have been donated by many local businesses and families.

All Sponsors will be recognized on our website and social media pages. Gold, Silver and Bronze Event Sponsors will be included on a banner in the clubhouse.

HCS SPRING LIVE Auction
The HCS Auction takes place in the Spring and is held in the school gym. The format is traditional auction calling style. In past auctions, some items up for bid have been a Hot Air Balloon ride, gift certificates for shopping and eating, weedwhacker, Kayaking trips, Home Depot Bucket of tool accessories, salon services, party packages, Sight & Sound tickets and much, much more!! You can even bid on your student to be Principal for the day or a day off for your favorite teacher! Most of the items for sale have been donated by many local businesses and families. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the “Fishers of Men” Fish Fry truck and the “Dairy O” ice cream truck.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
Please join us at Harmony Christian School for a Fish Fry Dinner prepared by Tastefully British on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 5pm-7:30pm. This event is open to the public and we encourage everyone to get their hands on this Fish!
All proceeds benefit Harmony Christian School and furthering Christian Education. Tickets are Pre-Sale only. There will be a very limited number of tickets available at the door so please secure your tickets by Friday October 19th. Adults are $15 and children are $10. Each meal includes Fish, chips (french fries), KFC coleslaw, vegetables, roll, drinks and dessert!!! Chicken is available upon request. EAT IN or TAKE OUT.

2019 HCS HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR (2 DAY EVENT)
This event is slated to take place in November of 2019. HCS will be taking over most of the Orange County Fairgrounds to put on a Holiday Craft Fair for the Hudson Valley. Over 150 vendors will be coming from all over the Northeast will bring their craft items and offer them for sale. Many more details to come as this event develops.
