Missions & Community Service
"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."
Mark 16:15
Missions
From the beginning, God was on a mission looking to redeem, by His grace, this broken world. In turn, you experience His grace and love in order to become a channel for others to come and know Him too.
We’re privileged as a school to have this opportunity every Spring for mission trips. Our desire to serve and provide these missions trips is sparked by how God has served us. We love because He first loved us! We’re sent as Christ was sent to us. Consider for a moment that everything you are and have has been graciously given by the Lord for His glory, your joy, and the good of others.
We believe these short-term trips are used by God to accomplish countless things He’s planned. We also understand this is a unique opportunity for our student’s faith to be tested and strengthened. Through experiencing different parts of the world, diving into authentic Christian community within the team, and serving others the way Jesus serves, transformation happens that lasts well beyond the trip.
If you are interested in joining the missions team, please contact the school office for more details.

Haiti

Countdown to the next mission trip
Give life to children in Haiti by partnering with locally-fed movements. We believe passionately in partnering with organizations, Churches, and communities who are giving life right where they call home in Haiti. We believe the best way we can see the hope of Jesus Christ offered to a community is to come alongside these local movements, supporting those leading solutions in and for their community. It is simple and something we are still learning how to do. Our vision is to give life to children in Haiti by partnering with locally-led movements.
Wings of Refuge Inc., partners with Pastor Rodger Wilson Charles and his wife, Gladys Charles, in seeing Wings of Refuge Children’s home give life to 34 children. Since our vision is to come alongside, we respond to the needs that we see through supporting the local work of the Home; instead of leading the way on the ground in Haiti, we strengthen, supply, and support those leading the way in Haiti.
What is done while on the Haiti Missions trip
We will have the opportunity to help with meal service, skits, games, crafts, and play with the kids. Also, other opportunities to help the community rebuild their infrastructure have come up in recent years due to hurricanes and earthquakes.

Community Service
Community Service has been a trademark and source of pride at Harmony Christian School and is an integral part of the school’s mission. Our goal for our community service program is to reach out to the world and show God’s incredible love for His creation by building intimate relationships with local organizations and developing true hearts for service in each one of our HCS students.
To meet our mission, Harmony has developed community service day where all students from preschool to twelfth grade participates. We believe that working with a variety of ministry opportunities develops compassion in our students by exposing them to the abundance of need in our world.
We know that when young people take on community service projects they benefit greatly from their volunteer work, gaining memorable experiences and building strong and admirable character traits. Through the students’ community service work, they are given the opportunity to see life from a cross section of perspectives, giving them a sense of humility and gratitude for their own lives. At Harmony Christian School, we inspire our children and families to view service not as an event, but as a way of life.
