Spiritual Emphasis Week 2019 continues... Read on for Pastor Tim’s notes on today’s session!
“Our second session we focused on the idea of being “Raised to New Life” and focused on Colossians 6:4-15 and Our break-out sessions looked at Hebrews 10:19-23.
The purpose of the session is to help students see that God’s Son was prophesied, came to earth, lived a perfect, sinless life, died for our sins and rose again to offer us life abundant and everlasting. Because Jesus died for us, we are raised to new life. We find encouragement in Colossians, we are secured in what Christ has done. We can be rooted in Him and through that experience some amazing things!
Next Steps . . .
• You learned so much about the Old Testament, and the Temple, and how it helped really explain Jesus’ death. What was one thing you remembered?
• How would you describe the Gospel to someone who has never heard it before?
• Where do you stand with God? Is there anything I can do to help your spiritual walk with Him?
• What were some of the “foundational statements” in Colossians and how do they impact you?
Be willing to take some time and share your story with your student. Walk them through what made you decide to follow Christ, ask them about their doubts and struggles, and spend some time praying with them.
Thank you again for the opportunity to spend this time with your students!”
